Janet has worked internationally for 20+ years. She combines fifteen years of law firm and in-house legal experience with  communications expertise and professional coaching certification to create insightful, motivating, and highly customized executive coaching and training. As an experienced international business lawyer, she truly understands the unique challenges faced by lawyers handling cross-border issues.

Out of law school Janet joined the international practice group of Baker Botts, LLP and worked on international business transactions based throughout the globe. While there, Baker Botts selected her to represent the firm as its foreign visiting attorney with Santamarina y Steta, S.C.‘s Mexico City office. In 1996, Enron International hired her to spearhead legal teams on numerous sophisticated transactions, including a $400 million international bid and many other transactional, regulatory and litigation matters.

Janet also has experience as a radio commentator, journalist and author, and she contributed frequently to the Asian Wall Street Journal, Dallas Morning News, Houston Chronicle, Fodor’s and other publications. She contributed Creative Career Strategies for Growing an International Practice to the bestselling Careers in International Law published by the ABA’s Section of International Law. Her communications expertise helps clients improve their communication skills, personal branding, and media exposure.

Having taught as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Houston School of Law, Janet now trains and speaks professionally about global rainmaking and related topics, as described at GlobalRainmaking.com.

The International Coach Federation certified Janet as a coach, and she holds its ACC credential.  She received professional coaching training from the Coaches Training Institute.

The National Endowment for the Arts selected her as a 2005 and 2008 panelist. Janet has traveled and worked throughout the world, is highly proficient in Spanish and has a working knowledge of French and Italian. She is married and has two children.
