Lawyers Getting Social: NYT Reports Social Media Stats for Lawyers

Filed under: Client Development & Rainmaking, Communicate across Cultures, General, Social Media — Janet Moore, September 12, 2009

Yesterday’s New York Times reported that a full 86% of lawyers 25-35 use LinkedIn and other social media and–a bigger surprise–66% over age 46 do. Not only gregarious rainmakers, but also introverted lawyers, can easily jump on this networking bandwagon–and indeed they have.

International lawyers particularly benefit from this geography-and-time zone-crossing method of networking.

My LinkedIn profile has been invaluable for staying connected with friends and former colleagues across the miles–and also for bringing in new clients.  Other popular social networking sites for lawyers include:

www.EsqChat.comwww.LawLink.comwww.Lawyrs.netwww.LegalOnRamp.com; and Martindale-Hubbell Connected

Are you sufficiently, socially networked? If not, get social.
